Free website accessibility check
About one in four adults has a disability, and many more just have tired eyes or a small phone screen. See what makes your page hard to read or use, and how to fix it.
Google is testing your page. This takes 10 to 30 seconds.
What we’re looking at:
- Text contrast and readability
- Picture descriptions (alt text)
- Form labels and button names
- Headings and page language
- Zoom and tap target size
- Things a person still needs to check
What the check looks at
- Reading: text that’s too faint against its background, links that only stand out by color, and pages that block zooming on phones.
- Screen readers: pictures, buttons and links with no words, form boxes with no labels, and the page language.
- Structure: headings in order, lists built properly, and a way to skip past the menu.
- Phones and keyboards: tap targets big enough for a finger, and a sensible keyboard order.
What it can’t tell you
Automated tests find only part of what matters. A clean result doesn’t mean the page is fully accessible or meets the ADA or WCAG, and this isn’t legal advice. Also try your page with only a keyboard (Tab and Enter), and with your phone’s screen reader turned on.
The tests are Google Lighthouse’s accessibility audits, which use Deque’s open-source axe-core engine. Check the rest of the page with the SEO check or the page speed check.
