See the security basics of any website in a few seconds: the secure connection, the protective settings browsers look for, cookies and outdated code. You get a score out of 100 and what to fix, in plain English.
What the check looks at
- The connection: HTTPS, the move from http:// and HSTS, which keeps browsers on HTTPS.
- Protective settings (headers): Content Security Policy, clickjacking protection, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy.
- Cookies: whether they’re limited to secure connections and your own site.
- Code on the page: old versions of common libraries like jQuery, insecure http:// files, and software versions the site gives away.
- The extras: a security.txt contact file and CAA records that limit who can issue your certificates.
This is a quick outside check, not a full security test. It won’t find weak passwords, unpatched plugins behind a login or problems on your office network.
